Teen Executes 19-Year-Old In Broad Daylight In Intersection: Nassau County Police Allege

A 19-year-old was shot dead in broad daylight at a Hempstead intersection, and now another teen is behind bars, Nassau County police announced in an update on Monday, March 3.

Jefferson J. Mancia-Fernandez, 19, of Hempstead, was gunned down near West Graham Avenue and Peninsula Boulevard just after noon on Saturday, March 1, police said. Officers found him unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds and rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Now, 18-year-old Jeremias Ferrufino-Rodriguez of 190 West Marshall Street has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, detectives said.

Ferrufino-Rodriguez is set to be arraigned on Monday, March 3, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
